- On 5/1/11 SAR Officers responded to Calico II at Red Rock Canyon in reference to a fallen rock climber. Initial reports stated that the female victim was critical. Upon arrival, three SAR Officers conducted initial medical care, stabilized and packaged the victim in preparation for a helicopter evacuation. The victim was short-hauled to the Red Rock Overlook, where care was transferred to Flight for Life. The victim had been reportedly rope soloing a route with several other climbers present in the area. A self-locking friction device released, causing the female victim to fall approximately 30 feet to the ground.
