Ice Climbing? In Vegas?!?
Well, we wish.
Because of the lack of climbable ice in and around Las Vegas, members of the LVMPSAR Mountain Rescue team travel to Ouray, Colorado every year to partake in Ice Climbing activities and enjoy time in the Colorado Mountains. Not only does the team climb on the ice at The Ouray Ice Park, but they also go over snow and ice rescue techniques, survival skills, and participate in general team building activities.
This is always a fun trip for members who are able to make it. If you've never traveled to Ouray to try out a little ice climbing, we highly recommend it!
